Dr Raesetja Gloria Ledwaba
Dr. Raesetja Gloria Ledwaba is a Senior lecturer in the department of Inclusive Education in the College of Education, University of South Africa (UNISA). She completed BA Education from the University of the North (Former University of Limpopo). She specialized in Augmentative and Alternative Communication in her Honours and Masters programmes at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. She obtained PhD in Early Childhood Education in 2018 and became member of UNISA College of Education Ethics Committee since 2017. Dr. Ledwaba is a member of Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA). She completed several courses on Ethics including, Training and Resources in Research Ethics Evaluation (TREE), Global Ethics, and Epigeum course on research Integrity. Furthermore, Dr. Ledwaba has been serving as a member of Ethics committee at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) since 2020. She also participates in the facilitation of ethics workshops at the University of South Africa. Dr. Ledwaba has now joined Africa Bioethics Network (ABN) as an outreach Coordinator. Her responsibility in the organization is integral to expand the reach and impact ABN across the continent. This includes the following: Develop and implement strategic outreach plans to increase the network's visibility and impact across Africa; Coordinate with other team members to ensure outreach activities align with the network's objectives and contribute to achieving overall goal; Organize and manage events, webinars; and other promotional activities to engage a broader audience and foster network growth; Build and maintain strong relationships with academic institutions, NGOs, community groups, and other stakeholders; Identify and pursue opportunities for collaborations and partnerships with relevant organizations to expand the network's reach; Track and report on outreach activities, using key metrics to assess success and inform future outreach strategies; Develop and maintain outreach-related content for the network's social media platforms, website, and newsletters in coordination with the Communications Officer; Identify and pursue funding opportunities or sponsorships to support outreach activities; Represent ABN at conferences, workshops, and other relevant events to promote the network and its activities; Design and implement targeted outreach campaigns to engage specific stakeholder groups in bioethics discussions and initiatives.
