Building Global Health Justice Research Capacity in Africa
The Africa Bioethics Network (ABN), in partnership with Kingβs College London and the African Journal of Bioethics (AJB), invites applications to a prestigious, fully funded writing workshop aimed at early-career African researchers working on global health justice.
The programme features:
An in-person workshop (October 2025, Nairobi)
A 12-month virtual mentorship programme (October 2025 β September 2026)
Participants will receive tailored guidance from senior researchers and editors, develop publication-ready manuscripts, and join a supportive peer network.
You are eligible to apply if you:
β Are based in Kenya
β Completed your most recent degree within the past seven years
β Are actively working on or developing a manuscript or research idea
β Work in areas such as:
β Bioethics and health policy
β Gender and reproductive justice
β Environmental or climate ethics
β Digital health, AI, or health equity
β Can attend the full in-person workshop
β Are committed to ongoing virtual mentorship
β Have support from your institution (letter required)
β Have reliable internet access

Applications will be reviewed by a panel from ABN, Kingβs College London, and AJB based on:

β Diversity and representation across disciplines and institutions
A: Yes. The workshop includes full accommodation, meals, materials, and mentorship support.
A: No. A solid research idea or draft is sufficient
A: Yes. Researchers from NGOs, government, or independent sectors are welcome.
