Dr Rose Mwangi

Dr. Rose Mwangi is a leading expert at the intersection of bioethics, public health, and global research ethics. She plays a central role in advancing bioethics education and governance at KCMC University and across East Africa, having served as Deputy Chair of KCMC’s Institutional Review Board. Her research interest focuses on ethical challenges in clinical trials within global health settings, with a focus on infectious diseases, youth sexual and reproductive health, digital health, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
Grounded in a strong commitment to health equity and culturally informed governance, her work bridges local and global perspectives. Rose also serves as an ethics mentor for internationally funded research projects. Most recently, she completed a prestigious Guest Fellowship at the Joint Centre for Bioethics, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto, supported by the Global Forum on Bioethics in Research.
