Patience Oduor
Patience Oduor is a clinical trials specialist with nearly two decades of experience in clinical research management in both research and academia settings. She is a trained bioethicist and holds a Master’s degree in Global Bioethics from Universidad Anáhuac and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Microbiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Patience has successfully led clinical research operations including clinical trials in TB, HIV, HPV and Smoking cessation.
She serves as a site sub-investigator at Center for Family Health Research in Rwanda and has previously worked at University of Maryland Baltimore, Kenya Medical Research Institute. Most recently at the University of Global Health Equity, she headed the clinical trials unit, was a member of the Institutional Review and taught undergraduate students on research ethics, nurturing the next generation of ethically conscious researchers. Patience contributed to customization of training curriculum for research ethics in Rwanda. With an interest in advancing ethical research practices and safeguarding human dignity in health research and practice, Patience is an active member of the Bioethics Society of Kenya and the Africa Research Integrity Network.
Patience is committed to equipping researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers with the tools to address ethical challenges in global health. She will lead training initiatives across diverse program areas, including bioethics, environmental ethics, research ethics, and related fields and design, coordinating, and implementing training programs to enhance bioethics education and capacity-building across Africa.
