Dr Kirubel Manyazewal Mussie is a Bioethicist with an interdisciplinary background combining a PhD in biomedical ethics from the University of Basel in Switzerland, a master’s in international community health from the University of Oslo in Norway, and a BA in social work from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. His notable achievements include receiving grants from the European Union and the University of Basel for his doctoral project and winning the international science talk competition at the Geneva Health Forum 2022. He has been published in different journals including BMJ Open, Journal of Bioethical Inquiry, BMC Geriatrics, and others. He is an Editor of the African Journal of Bioethics and a reviewer for various international journals. His experience outside of academia includes policy consultation, ethics consultation, and gender mainstreaming.
