Farah Nabil
Farah Nabil is a global health professional with extensive expertise in research, grant, and program management. Her work focuses on gender mainstreaming in health research and bioethics at the regulatory level, as well as planetary health centering Indigenous Peoples and local communities and the social determinants of health in key populations of Subsaharan Africa.
Farah serves as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the African Journal of Bioethics (AJB) and as grant manager for the Africa Bioethics Network.
Farah recently completed her PhD in Health Sciences at the University of Zaragoza, achieving the prestigious "Cum Laude" distinction. Her dissertation focused on building the capacity of healthcare workers in Senegal to provide psychosocial support for marginalized populations at high risk of HIV/AIDS.
Previously, Farah managed EU-funded research initiatives, such as the BCA-WA-ETHICS project, which strengthened research ethics and gender mainstreaming among West African National Research Ethics Committees. Her contributions also extend to international organizations, including WHO and the Clinton Health Access Initiative, where she continues to influence global health policies and programs.
Farah's academic journey also includes a Master of Science in Clinical Research: International Health Specialty from the University of Barcelona, where her dissertation focused on sex- and gender-based analysis of vaginal microbicides research in sub-Saharan Africa.
